François Goubau and the rest of the crew on Moana have had a very strong season and they have just crowned it by winning the european championship in IRC.

Moana, led by skipper François Goubau has had quite a season this year. Earlier this summer, the Beneteau First 47.7 won a class win at Cowes Week, and recently Goubau and crew crowned it by winning the european championship at the Breskens Sailing Weekend. The championship came to a very close end as it was all decided by just 0.003 points.

Moana runs a full wardrobe from Elvstrøm Sails in the shape of the mainsail plus four different genoas and three different spinnakers. The medium genoa is one François highlights - this proved especially effective in both of the big results this year at Cowes as well as at Breskens Sailing Weekend. The sail setup was made in close cooperation with Elvstrøm Sails Benelux and dealer Maxim van Pelt to ensure top performance.

The next big ambition for François Goubau and the crew is the Rolex Fastnet Race next year. The Fastnet Race is a biennial event, and adding even more spice, the 2023 edition is going to be the 50th anniversary of the event that takes the field from Cowes on Isle of Wight, UK around the the most southern point of Ireland, Fastnet Rock, and then on to the finish line in Cherbourg, France. 695 nautical miles in total.
