This autumn, Elvstrøm Sails has set the course for a new venture in the shape of Elvstrøm SailWear. Launching today, the Danish sailmaker enters the world of maritime clothing with the new SailWear Collection.
With SailWear, Elvstrøm Sails has created a wearable tribute to the passion for sailing - and of course for the outstanding career, our founder Paul Elvstrøm had at the top level of the sport through four decades. Sharing the passion of sailing is a top priority for Elvstrøm Sails, and by uniting the spirit of sailing with what Elvstrøm Sails has done for almost seven decades, this is a logical next step for the Danish sailmaker. The Elvstrøm SailWear is an addition to the sail making business, that is also about durable fabrics and well thought shapes - some of the fundamental parameters with sails, and thus a natural extension of the portfolio. Just as with our sails, SailWear is all about textures, fibers, functionality, and shape.
Embrace the spirit of sailing
SailWear debuts with the new Crew Line, which compliments the main business that for almost seven decades has equipped sailing boats all over the world with strong, durable and high performance products. And no matter if the subject is classic or a more modern, high tech design, it's always made with a keen eye to the detail.
The same keen eye has overseen the process of making the SailWear - a collection which introduces a modern and casual style with a distinct inspiration from the world of sailing. Each and every style is also complimented by the unique history of Paul Elvstrøm. The history shines through on all products, as they have been named after the city and year in which Elvstrøm sailed to one of his many victories. Each location and year is also followed on the website and on the hangtags of every item with a short story of the race it has been named after.
This takes the customer on Elvstrøm's journey - from his home waters just outside Copenhagen and around the world to destinations as far-flung as Australia, Brazil and Cuba.
