Paul Elvstrøm is Yachtsman of the Year 2011

Paul Elvstrøm, 83 years, is by the board of the Royal Danish Yachtclub (KDY) appointed Yachtsman of the Year 2011 and was therefore in December presented The Marvin Howe Green Trophy by the current prize holder His Royal Highness Prince Henrik. The Prince was last year the first one to achieve the new prize. 

The late Marvin Howe Green, an American sailor and businessman and friend of Danish sailing, died in January but instituted last year The Mavin Howe Green Trophy to be presented to the Yachtsman of the Year.

Paul Elvstrøm received the prize on Friday December 16, and he was rewarded the prize due to his longtime achievement and contributions to Danish sailing through more than 60 years including four Olympic gold medals in a row and numerous national and international titles.
