Hanse Yachts announce Elvstrøm Sails as new boat supplier

Elvstrøm Sails are the new standard sail supplier for all HANSE yachts, from the 325 to the new 575, as well as new Dehler and Moody yachts.
 
Of particular interest is the Elvstrøm FCL Upgrade Package (Fast Cruising Laminate), a high-performance cruising sail set, which has been developed specifically for HANSE clients by Jesper Bank. It can be ordered as an option or as part of the Performance Package.
 
Jesper Bank, Elvstrøm Director, double gold medal winner and America's Cup skipper, describes the exclusive HANSE FCL sail as having "very durable and stable cloth quality, and the perfect choice for ambitious cruising sailors.  Elvstrøm FCL sails are laminated from five layers with outside taffeta fabric to protect them from damage and UV radiation”.

Jeremy White, MD of Elvstrøm UK says “Hanse conducted extensive tests and have moved their contract to Elvstrøm, as they are delighted with the outstanding quality and performance of the sails”.

JOG and Warsash Spring series update

The Warsash Spring series has just finished some more great results for Elvstrøm Sails.

Stewart Hawthorn's J'Ai Deux Amours, finished 1st overall winning the J80 Spring Championship by 13 points.

Malcolm Jacques rounded up the J70 Spring Champs with a 3rd in Django. In IRC Class 1, John Reivers in Loco also put in a 3rd overall in a big fleet in the Black group series.

Meanwhile, our Just So J109 offshore team of David and Mary McGough scored two consecutive 2nds in the JOG Nab Race and Cowes Owers Race; and they managed a credible 4th overall in the Spring Series, around their JOG commitments.

Onwards and upwards for a strong season.

'Just So' win JOG Cowes-Cherbourg-Cowes

Our warm congratulations to David and Mary McGough in J-109 'Just So', who won both legs of Class 4 in the JOG Cowes/Cherbourg/Cowes Race over the Easter weekend, by a healthy margin in blustery conditions.  

They posted the fastest corrected time by 41 seconds, in the entire fleet of 36 boats on the race out to Cherbourg.  Their efforts won themselves the Myth of Malham and Blue Sabre trophies. Great results!
