The Sigma 38, which celebrated it’s own Silver Jubilee last year, was designed by David Thomas to be a class able to ‘stand up to tough offshore conditions’.
Jeremy White, manager of Elvstrom’s UK loft said “Elvstrom Sails are celebrating their 60th anniversary making quality sails for racing and cruising yachts across the globe. We have worked with the Sigma 38 class for many years and, as part of those celebrations, we are delighted to be involved with the Nationals. And I am personally thrilled to be joining the racing myself on board ‘Light’.
There is a great synergy between the Sigma 38s, which have stood the test of time, and Elvstrom Sails. Through many years of extensive R&D, Elvstrom Sails have perfected the production of high quality, durable membranes. Our EPEX laminate sails are built to last, and our unique guarantee against delamination proves it.”

Our congratulations to John and Susan Rainer and the crew on board Sigma 38 'Light' for winning the Warsash Spring Championships by a comfortable seven point margin.
Sailed in a variety of conditions over the two weekends, Light was out racing fitted with her new Elvstrom EPEX carbon mainsail, with internal taffeta reinforcement. Her consistent performance with four firsts and second places, and no score below fourth ensured her podium success.
Meanwhile, Malcolm and Tristian Jacques co-skippered their J70 Django to 2nd overall in the J70 Spring Series and 3rd overall in the Spring Championships. Plus, David and Mary McGough finished 3rd on the podium in both events in the J109 class. Great work everyone!
