The combination of Elvstrøm EPEX membrane sails and Bavaria 40 Sport proved to be a heavy blow to the rest of the field in Kornati Cup in Croatia. I'm most satisfied with the teamwork on board but I'm even more impressed with the performance of the sails, says skipper of Amo 'Ca, Paul Huber. Effective partnershipThanks to the perfect sails we had significant speed in all wind conditions and even though the partnership between Bavaria Yachtbau and Elvstrøm Sails is strong I was surprised to see it so effective as it turned out to be in Croatia, he says. Team Amo 'Ca is owned by Yachten Meltl and was supported by Kim Petersen, Søren Hansen, and Ernst Seidl from respectively Elvstrøm Sails in Denmark and Austria. Took seven titlesDuring several years Kornati Cup has been an important part of our development program and a perfect venue for us to test our newest innovative solutions. High demands meet the sails chosen for each boat since Kornati Cup is specal with its limited number of sails on board. We used EPEX membrane sails with technora fibres and the unique Elvstrøm inside taffeta which guarantees a sail that is both remarkably stable and extremely long lasting, says Søren Hansen from Elvstrøm Sails Denmark. At the prize giving ceremony Amo 'Ca was honoured with seven titles, among others the winner of the group "GPH larger than 610", overall winner measured on both points and respite and winner of the The Blue Riband. |
